About Laura

Laura Torenbeek (she/her) is an Intimacy Coordinator, Wellbeing Facilitator, and Director based in Liverpool, UK, with a strong commitment to wellbeing, advocacy, and sustainability in the creative industries.

Her career in Film and TV began in the Covid and Production departments in 2021, where she gained a unique insight into on-set dynamics and crew care. This experience led her to discover the role of Intimacy Coordinator and Wellbeing Facilitator, areas that deeply align with her passion for mental health, advocacy, and creating safe, respectful working environments.

Alongside her work in film, she’s committed to environmental sustainability. She founded Green Film Productions to produce compelling creative content while minimizing ecological footprint. Through this initiative, she also launched Girls With Capes, an art collective that champions work by female and non-binary artists.

Intimacy Coordination

I am an intimacy coordinator, trained at the National Film and Television School. I have extensive experience in the UK Film and TV industry, working in different departments and ranging from high-budget to low-budget productions.

As an Intimacy Coordinator I lead with empathy and non-judgment. It is my job to follow the creative visions of the director whilst facilitating collaboration, consent and communication.

I am dedicated to the creative portrayal of intimate scenes whilst at the same time creating safe and inclusive spaces and I would love to work on your next production!

I am committed to creating safe and healthy sets where cast and crew can thrive. As a Wellbeing Facilitator (WBF) I am accessible to all cast and crew and foster a positive working culture, supporting those who need it. I can assist with de-escalating and investigating instances of bullying, harassment and discrimination and signpost individuals if they need more help. I am trained with and work through 6FT From the Spotlight and would love to talk to you about your production.

Writer/Director/Producer

I have written and directed a range of short films and produced two independent feature films directed by Gabrielle Russell. My work has screened at over 50 festivals worldwide, including Chicago International Film Festival, Galway Film Fleadh, Santa Fe International Film Festival and Underwire.
